The issue of handling the murder of health workers by the Lamek Taplo group in Kiwirok has not yet been resolved, yesterday an issue arose that there would be a wave of refugees in Oksibil, Bintang Mountains Regency.
The news that spread through WhatsApp group conversations managed by KNPB said that in the near future there would be massive evacuations from several districts adjacent to the PNG and RI borders.
The media crew tried to find certainty about the information from residents in Tumorbil, say Uopmabin because he did not want the public to know about information on evacuations in Tumorbil.
By cell phone, Uopmabin told that the residents in Tumorbil were not actually refugees, they were residents who had lived in Tumorbil for a long time.
Regarding the refugee issue, it was not true, at that time we received information that a health worker on duty in Kiwirok was shot and killed by TPNPB, with this incident we were contacted by a person who claimed to be the head of the central KNPB in Jayapura. We were asked to accept the refugees on the grounds of attacks by the security forces.
The residents who were called refugees by KNPB people were actually residents who had no impact after the murder of the health workers in Kiwirok, they were forced to Tumorbil because they were told to avoid the security forces.
"Actually, they are residents who were not affected by the attack on health workers, because they were forced and intimidated by the KNPB group, they were threatened and scared, so they stayed with us here for some time," he said.
While in Tumorbil the residents were forced by several people to take pictures in conditions that made them look like they were in a displaced condition, then they were told to speak loudly together by saying "We are refugees from Kiwirok and several neighboring districts asking for UN assistance to see the situation in Papua, in front of him someone is recording using a cellphone," he explained in a sad tone.
The information is also that some time in the future, they will take a photo together with Lamek Taplo or the TPNPB Commander to convince the United Nations that the refugees really exist, he concluded.
From the results of our conversation with Uopmabin, we concluded that the evacuation that had been rumored to be in Tumorbil turned out to be just a fabrication of the KNPB group, this false issue has resulted in public deception by the KNPB, so in this case Agus Kossay as the head of the central KNPB also intimidating and threatening residents in the Bintang Mountains must be held accountable.
Agus did not know that many residents were able to communicate with their families both in PNG and in Papua themselves to report the fabrications they had made.
