The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) supports the acceleration of development, welfare, and improvement of the quality of public services as well as the sustainability and sustainability of development in the Papua region. The Minister of Finance (Menkeu) during a working visit to Papua to conduct ground breaking for the construction of the State Flats (Rusunara), as well as to inaugurate the Jayapura State Finance Building, revealed that to optimize employee performance in supporting the development of Papua, the Ministry of Finance is in synergy with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing ( The Ministry of PUPR) builds shared housing (Rusunara) for Ministry of Finance employees who work in the Papua region.
 
The construction of buildings carried out by the Ministry of PUPR to meet housing needs for Ministry of Finance employees in accordance with the provisions for the construction of state flats based on the Minister of PUPR Regulation Number 01/PRT/M/2018 concerning Assistance for Development and Management of Flats. "I hope that with the construction of this Rusunara, the employees of the Ministry of Finance in Jayapura will occupy decent housing while on duty at the end of the country and contribute more to the country," explained the Minister of Finance.
 
In a press conference in Papua, the Minister of Finance also said that the success of organizing PON XX and PEPARNAS Papua cannot be separated from the support from the State Budget in providing various supporting infrastructures that can provide social and economic benefits to the people of Papua and its surroundings.
 
"I hope that the economy in Papua will grow even higher because Papua in 2021 its economic growth will be much higher than the national level, above 14% because Papua is driven by commodities. In this situation Papua will enjoy in addition to the special autonomy funds, later it will receive funds. for the results, especially yesterday, we fully supported the successful implementation of PON and PEPARNAS," said the Minister of Finance.

The Minister of Finance also hopes that this will be a momentum for Papua to continue to develop, especially its resources, to become great human beings. "We will fully support it, we hope that the entire budget that has been allocated is used to the maximum extent possible to create improvements for human resources and welfare and encourage the economy to bounce back."
 
On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance provides enormous support for improving the quality of Superior Human Resources (HR) through the Affirmation Scholarship Program for the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) to produce alumni who are able to empower the Papuan people. The Ministry of Finance's contribution through the LPDP in improving human resources in the provinces of Papua and West Papua from 2013 to 2021 was able to give birth to as many as 493 domestic and foreign graduates consisting of 328 Masters and 160 Doctorates and 5 Specialist Doctors.

Meanwhile, the improvement of the Special Autonomy Fund policy aims to progress and improve welfare for the Papuan people and indigenous Papuans. The change in the amount of the Special Autonomy Fund from 2% to 2.25 percent of the DAU allocation is expected to provide optimal, fair and accountable benefits for the acceleration of Papua's development. In addition, the Ministry of Finance also supports the improvement of new governance in the use of the Special Autonomy Fund to improve the management of the use of the Special Autonomy Fund towards more prosperous Papuan people and indigenous Papuans.
 
In the future, support for the acceleration of the management of the Special Autonomy Fund through the Secretariat of the Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Special Autonomy Development (BP3OKP) carried out by the Vertical Office of the Ministry of Finance has the role of synchronization, harmonization, evaluation, and coordination for the acceleration of Papua's development. The presence of assistance and supervision from the Central Government (through technical ministries/agencies) from the planning, coaching, monitoring, to evaluation stages will ensure that the distribution of special autonomy and TKDD funds in Papua can run well, hopefully by cutting the bureaucratic chain and implementing comprehensive assistance and supervision. the noble mission to provide equitable development and increase welfare in Papua can be achieved immediately.
