Armed conflicts brought by separatist groups continue to occur. The separatist action in Papua has even previously been mapped by an academic at the University of Gajah Mada, Dr. Gabriel Lele in his statement said that the conflict in Papua was predominantly carried out by separatist groups which ultimately resulted in suffering for civil society.
Terror in the form of attacks and arson attacks on facilities in the Bilogai Airport area, Intan Jaya Regency (29/10) is known to have made the situation in the area hot again, it is reported that thousands of people have fled to churches and several security posts.
In response to the ongoing armed conflict in Intan Jaya Regency, Pastor (Imam) Projo of the Catholic Church of the Diocese of Timika called for no more shootings.
It was stated that the armed conflict in Intan Jaya and other areas in Papua had resulted in the loss of many lives, including children, and caused a large-scale displacement of civilians.

The peace and quiet disappeared in an instant, after the TPNPB-OPM entered the city and carried out shootings and arson, two children were shot. Aprianus Sondegau (2 years old) died, and Yoakim Majau (6 years old) was hit by shrapnel and is currently undergoing treatment.
The central government in every opportunity always conveys a persuasive approach in dealing with the turmoil in Papua. The Kapolda and Pangdam as security authorities in Papua have several times voiced the same thing.
According to one of the Papuan youth leaders, Ali Kabiay, the government from time to time always opens up alternative possibilities to resolve conflicts in Papua. According to him, the development of a number of infrastructures, efforts to reduce inequality, strengthening the economy, or the availability of Education/Health facilities are examples of what has been done.
But according to Kabiay, these efforts seem raw. He said that if the resolution of the Papua issue was actually collided with the interests and egocentrism of the separatist group itself.
