The Consumption Sector of the Grand Committee of the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week (PB Peparnas) 2021 guarantees the food menu to be served, both heavy meals and snacks, to athletes and officials participating in Peparnas XVI Papua to ensure quality.
One of the strategic steps in the Consumption Sector is to entrust the handling of the consumption of Peparnas XVI Papua to PT Dara Boga Samara (DBS), a national catering company that has experience in handling the consumption of large events in the country.
The Coordinator for Consumption of PB Peparnas XVI Papua, Anike Rawar, Saturday (30/10/2021) said that every serving of food for athletes and all members of the Peparnas contingent has been clinically and hygienically tested. All dishes that will be served are also tested by nutritionists.
This guarantee is given regarding the calorie dose or nutritional needs as well as in terms of presentation which is done by a proven expert.
According to Anike, each package for athletes and Peparnas XVI Papua officials will only be served for four hours. After four hours, all remaining meal packages will be recalled, and replaced with new meal packages.
“The food consumption given was only four hours. From the cooking procession to the athlete's hand, only four hours. After four hours, the food must have been replaced with a new package, so that there will be no stale food in the implementation of this Peparnas," Anike told reporters, after reviewing the test menu at the Mega Abepura Futsal arena complex, (30/10/2021). .
He added that although the Consumption Sector of PB Peparnas XVI Papua has collaborated with DBS which incidentally is a professional catering service company, Anike ensures that his party will also continue to monitor the condition of the dishes served.
“My friends and I in the Consumption Sector will continue to monitor it. We hope that no stale food is given to athletes and officials," he explained.
Anike said that his party had coordinated with the Transportation Sector of PB Peparnas XVI Papua, to ensure the smooth distribution of consumption. Meanwhile, the consumption distribution schedule at each Peparnas XVI Papua venue has also been arranged.
"We have anticipated this, so that the feeding at the venue is not too late and can be consumed immediately. Before competing, they must consume food for two hours. We are sure that we will not give stale food because we will serve our brothers and sisters, (who) are disabled. The services we provide must be friendly and full of love to anyone who comes to the Land of Papua to take part in Peparnas," concluded Anike Rawar, who is also the Head of the Papua Provincial PPPA Service.
Furthermore, the Papua National Peparnas Consumption Sector will serve the consumption of athletes and officials of Peparnas participants starting from November 2-15, 2021 in two zones for the implementation of Peparnas XVI Papua 2021, namely the Jayapura City Zone and the Jayapura Regency Zone.
