The PUPR Office of Papua Province involves students in Jayapura City to make the 2021 Papua PON Papua successful. The involvement of these students is to foster the spirit of success for Papuan students in Jayapura City.
"We involve students to be spiritual, in the future so that the next generation of students can feel the nuances of this XX Papua PON, therefore we direct them to feel it by installing banners, painting, cleaning and others, so that they feel they have," said the Head of the Department of Work. Public and Public Housing (PUPR), Gerius One Yoman.
According to him, the work will not only be carried out at PON venues but in all areas of the City and District of Jayapura, from Sentani Airport to Base-G.
"Because Jayapura Regency is the gateway to Papua Province, and Jayapura City is the face of Papua Province, so everything must look neat and clean and lively, PON XX is even more resounding approaching the day of implementation. There must be generations of students involved and one of them is by direct physical activity to these students,” he added.
According to him, there were 25 groups of students studying in Jayapura City who participated in the implementation of the work, starting from those from the districts in Papua and also West Papua.
“Then there are some students from West Papua who are also involved in this program. Their work will be monitored from us later, they are wholesalers, and their wages are also available, this is a form of labor intensive, they are enthusiastic, and happy and this is the strength of PON, "he said.
He hopes that this job can be done by the student as well as possible. So that students also participate and experience PON Papua firsthand.
