KPK Asked to Investigate Special Autonomy Corruption and Check Funds for PON XX and Peparnas XVII in Papua

The Golkar Party (LPG) Loyalist Coordinator Feri R returned to the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Corruption Eradication Commission to provide support and support for the KPK in order to resolve a number of cases of alleged corruption in the Papua Provincial Government.

Feri said that the findings of the National Police Headquarters Intel regarding state losses in the misuse of Special Autonomy funds were approximately Rp. Feri asked the KPK to summon the governor of Papua for questioning.

Feri also asked the KPK to send a team to Papua to monitor/investigate a number of allegations of misuse of funds for the XX National Sports Week (PON) and XVI National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) in Papua amounting to Rp1.7 trillion from the APBD.

He suspects that a number of infrastructures built are not in accordance with their designation and there is no transparency of the budget for the implementation of the XX PON which is managed by the Papua PON Grand Committee (PB) to the public.

"The hope of the Papuan people is that it is time for the KPK to solve the big conspiracy problem of corruption in the Papua Provincial Government which is very detrimental to the people due to the lack of equality of welfare for Papuans," he said.

"Even though the central government has given a lot of special autonomy budget, but it turns out to be misused. Hopefully the KPK can be present in Papua quickly," concluded Feri.

Previously, PPATK Chair Dian Ediana Rae said that his party was very concerned about the APBD and the Papua and West Papua Special Autonomy Fund. With a relatively large budget, the Papuan people should be more prosperous than residents in other regions.

"If we understand that the Papuan APBD as a whole is quite large, the average is above Rp. 14 trillion and also Otsus is above Rp. 8 trillion. Now, I think this is a large number, I think, if we compare it with the population of Papua, which is only three millions," he said in a video shared with the media on Thursday (24/6).

The results of the PPATK analysis and examination, Dian continued, indicate that there are indications of widespread allegations of corruption or suspicious financial transactions in Papua and West Papua.

"In this case, of course, financial transactions related to Papuan corruption, this is something we have to convey in general. Of course because we will not talk about individual cases," he said.

In total, PPATK itself has conveyed to law enforcement officers, be it the KPK, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Police, that there are about 82 results of an analysis of alleged corruption involving around 52 people.

"There are several groups of people involved in it, the first is related to regional political officials, the second is related to regional bureaucratic officials, then the next is related to local government vendors or partners, then there are foundations, then there are also community organizations and individuals, and This indeed shows that the problem in Papua is not simple with such a large area," he explained.
