The joint TNI-Polri troops continued to hunt down the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Nau Waker who shot the teacher. The KKB also burned down a number of schools in Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua.
"The TNI-Polri will continue to move, as soon as possible to catch the KKB. Whereas the TNI-Polri have succeeded in taking control of the Waker area in Intan Jaya yesterday," said Head of the Nemangkawi Operation Public Relations Task Force, Kombes M Iqbal Alqudussy, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 8.
According to Iqbal, currently Nau Waker and his group are strongly suspected of heading to Ilaga. Nau is the subordinate of the KKB leader, Guspi Waker.
Meanwhile, continued Iqbal, the Waker group allegedly fled to the Beoga area because their position was pressed by the TNI-Polri apparatus.
Apart from burning three schools, Nau and his gang also extorted the Beoga residents.
Iqbal said Nau Waker was already on the Mimika Police's wanted list (DPO) in 2018 because of a series of crimes he had committed.
"In 2018, Guspi Waker gave orders to Nau Waker to shoot at Mile 69 PT Freeport Indonesia in Tembagapura, with the loss of 1 WLP vehicle," said Iqbal.
"The National Police has conducted ballistic laboratory tests on the type of steyer weapon used by Nau Waker," continued Iqbal.
Previously reported, KKB shot civilian Oktovianus Rayo (42), a teacher who lives in Julukoma Village, Beoga District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua
The teacher died after being shot twice by KKB who broke into his stall.
In addition, the KKB led by Nau Waker also committed a criminal act, burning elementary, junior high and high school schools in Julukoma Village, Boega District, Puncak Regency, Papua, in the afternoon.
