The Papua Regional Government has agreed to fund the admission of a Special Police Chief for indigenous Papuans (OAP).
This agreement was made in a joint meeting with the Papua Regional Police (Polda Papua) and the Papua Provincial government at the Papua State Building located at Dok V Jayapura.
Admission of OAP Polri NCO will be recruited as many as 2,000 people who will be carried out in 5 indigenous Papuan areas, namely La Pago, Me Pago, Tabi, Saireri and Animha.
During the meeting, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe and Papua Deputy Governor Klemen Tinal, as well as the Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Mathius D. Fakhiri who was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Police for Papua, Brigadier General Pol. Eko Rudi Sudarto agreed to this cooperation. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Papua Regional Secretariat General Bureau Elpius Hugi and the Director of the Jayapura Regional Hospital, Aloysius Giay.
The head of the Papua Province Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), Aryok AF Rumaropen who was present at the joint meeting said that the funding for the admission and education of 2,000 NCOs will be borne by the Papua 2021 APBD.
"The governor and deputy governor of Papua ordered the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) to coordinate with the Papua Police for the admission and education of OAP male and female non-commissioned officers," he explained, Wednesday (7/4).
Technically, the Papua Police submitted its budgeting needs to the Papua Provincial Government through BPSDM. In the meeting, the Deputy Governor of Papua emphasized that the admission of the National Police should be OAP and targeted to remote villages. This is so that young people in the village can have the same opportunity to have a career and serve as members of the National Police.
"In addition, the process of health selection will involve the Jayapura Hospital Dok II team and also the Papua Health Service," he explained.
