The Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) has budgeted IDR 15 billion per year, for maintenance and maintenance costs for 13 PON XX venues, which are spread across four clusters, namely in Jayapura, Jayapura City, Mimika and Merauke districts.
Head of the Papua Province Sports and Youth Office Alexander Kapisa said the maintenance and maintenance of the PON venue has started this year.
"We have budgeted this year from the main budget of around Rp. 15 billion," said Kapisa, Saturday, April 24, 2021.
According to Kapisa, his party prepares a budget for the maintenance and maintenance process, because the biggest one is the operation of PON venues.
"There are approximately 13 PON venues, which will be treated. Last year we reviewed the maintenance calculations and got this year's figure. Gradually we budget, "he said.
The Papua Provincial Government is preparing a draft of a new Presidential Instruction (Inpres) as a legal umbrella to support the implementation of the XX PON in 2021, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The central government previously issued Presidential Instruction Number 10 of 2017 concerning support for the implementation of PON XX and National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) XVI Year 2020 in Papua Province.
Then, Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2020 concerning the acceleration of support for the implementation of PON XX and Peparnas XVI in 2020 in Papua Province. It is said that the new Presidential Decree also contains clauses on maintenance and maintenance of the PON venue.
"If there is a new Presidential Instruction, then there is a legal umbrella for the maintenance budget and selection of PON venues, including the matter of the process of handing over assets from BUMN to BUMD Papua," he said.
