Chairman of the MPR: Tumpas After KKB Papua, Talk About Human Rights Later

The chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Bambang Soesatyo, asked the security forces to reduce their full strength and crush the armed criminal group (KKB) in Papua. According to him, the security apparatus should not hesitate to reduce their full strength and human rights issues can be discussed later.

This statement was made by Bamsoet in response to Brigadier General I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha by the KKB of the Lekagak Telengen group in Boega, Puncak Regency, Papua until he died.

"I ask the government and the security apparatus not to hesitate and immediately deploy their full strength to crush the KKB in Papua which has claimed lives again. It will be finished first. We will discuss human rights matters later," said Bamsoet in his statement, Monday (26/4).

Previously, the Head of BIN for the Papua region Brigadier General I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha by the KKB of the Lekagak Telengen group in Boega, Puncak Regency, Papua until he died on Sunday (26/4).

At that time, I Gusti Putu was conducting field observations regarding efforts to accelerate security restoration. However, while carrying out their duties, I Gusti Putu and a number of TNI soldiers exchanged fire with KKB. Putu was shot dead.

The Free Papua Organization (OPM) acknowledged that it was responsible for the shooting of Gusti Putu until he died on Sunday (25/4) yesterday.

West Papua National Army (TNPB) -OPM spokesman, Sebby Sambom, said that Gusti Putu was killed by a stray bullet during gunfire.

"The shooting of the Papua cabin, Brigadier General Gusti Putu was shot by a TPNPB stray bullet," Sebby told CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (26/4).

"Because TNI Polri underestimates TPNPB troops. So all TNI-Polri troops are enemies and become TPNPB targets," he added.

At the time of the incident, Sebby said that his party was involved in a shootout with the TNI-Polri apparatus. Then, said Sebby, the troops considered all the apparatus as enemies, so they were used as targets for shooting.
