The Central Government through the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) is accelerating the improvement and equity of education in Papua and West Papua. Some of the programs that will be focused are the provision of one roof boarding schools to increase school enrollment rates.
In addition, within five years, the government has built 34 junior high schools (SMP) with boarding patterns that are adapted to the geographical conditions of each region.
The Minister of Education and Culture has inaugurated the Secretariat for the Acceleration of Education Development in Papua and West Papua at the Papua Education Quality Assurance Agency (LPMP) Office in Raja City, Jayapura.
Then the application of the Papua and West Papua contextual curriculum is compiled based on local content and also regional languages ??that can help teaching and learning activities.
Apart from the local government, the Ministry of Education and Culture is also open to facilitating public support for advancing education in Papua and West Papua. As has been done by non-governmental organizations, foundations, and various partnership programs.
