Police Headquarters in Yalimo Papua attacked by residents using arrows


The police headquarters in Yalimo Regency, Papua, was attacked by a group of residents. This attack left two members of an arrow wound and 1 citizen dead.

The attack occurred on Thursday (7/30) yesterday. The attack was carried out at the Brimob Headquarters and the local police station.

"It is true that the BKO Yalimo Brimob headquarters and the police station were attacked by residents, causing two members to suffer arrow wounds," said Yalimo police chief, AKBP Ahmad Khairudin, Friday (7/31/2020).

Ahmad said the attack was carried out by around 15 residents. They carried out attacks using traditional arrow weapons. An attacker was killed by a police shot.

"Do not know what his motive was, suddenly residents who used the arrow attacked the guard post of the Papua Police Regional Police Mobile Brigade headquarters," he explained.

"Two of our members suffered injuries due to arrows, one in the left thigh and one in the leg, while from the attackers one person died after being shot," Ahmad added.

Ahmad said, at this time the situation in Yalimo was conducive. The victim Y had died and was taken to the funeral home.

"We can secure the situation and this is conducive, while the motive for the attack is still being investigated," he said.
