Schools in 28 Green Zone Districts Reopened

Deputy Governor of Papua, Klemen Tinal stated that Jayapura City has not been able to implement the new normalcy alias new normal associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, for 28 other districts, it is able to implement new normal, while still observing the health protocol.

"New normal can only be applied in 28 districts, except that Jayapura City cannot yet be normal, because the Covid-19 case graph continues to rise, until now there are 1817 Jayapura cases," Deputy Governor Klemen Tinal told reporters after holding a coordination meeting with Forkompinda Papua, Thursday (7/30/2020).

Deputy Governor said, seeing the general situation in real terms, the condition of Papua today we are no longer conceptual relaxation, but today is a new normal adaptation.

With the adoption of new normal adaptation, the 28 regencies could allow a number of activities. For example, reopening schools.

"For this reason, schools in other regions can attend school while still observing the health protocol," he said.

The number of positive cases of new corona virus or Covid-19 in Papua has reached 2976 cases. From 29 regencies or cities in Papua, the spread of Covid-19 has reached 19 districts / cities.

A total of 13 districts or cities are included in the Covid-19 red zone. Six districts that were previously included in the red zone have now been classified in the yellow zone.
