Mimika Police Increase Joint Patrol

Mimika Resort Police, Papua, began to increase the joint patrols of picket members and BKO Brimob members from the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, especially at night while delivering kamtibmas messages to residents.

Mimika Police Resort picket officer AKP Mansur in Timika said the joint patrol activities of Mimika and Brimob police officers at night were intended to provide legal certainty and ensure the safety of residents while carrying out activities.

Especially at this time the Mimika Regency Government has put in place a new (normal) new life order policy.

"The joint patrol activities of the Central Kalimantan Police and Brimob members have been carried out from Saturday night (4/7) involving 20 personnel. If we see residents gathered, we will go to appeal for the residents to maintain security and not cause trouble," he said.

Mansur revealed that his party also socializes that residents pay attention to health protocols, such as keeping a distance, washing hands with soap, not crowding, must use masks when leaving the house, especially when in a crowd.

Mimika Kapolres AKBP IGG Era Adhinata said that the situation of the Kamtibmas in the Mimika region, especially in Timika City, was currently quite safe to control, but its ranks were wary of the emergence of new types of criminal acts especially through social media such as violations of Law Number 11 Year 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).

"In the COVID-19 pandemic situation a new type of crime has emerged such as a violation of the ITE Law. Cases like this should get the attention of the Detective and Criminal Unit (Reskrim) to be dealt with quickly so that the community does not play vigilante themselves," said the Adhinata Era AKBP.
