The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is tracing the alleged flow of funds to the suspect in bribery and gratuities for the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe.
KPK Enforcement and Institutional Spokesperson Ali Fikri said investigators had examined two people from the private sector to investigate Lukas' use of money.
They are Suntak and Mala Riany Wattimena. Both were examined by investigators at the KPK's Red and White Building, Monday (12/12/2022) yesterday.
"The two witnesses were present and their knowledge was investigated, including those still related to the suspected flow of use by the suspect Lukas Enembe," Ali said in a written statement, Tuesday (13/12/2022).
The KPK was originally supposed to investigate another person from a private party named Suci Marlina. However, the witness was not present. Investigators will also reschedule to re-examine Suci.
"Immediately inform those concerned," said Ali.
It is known that Lukas is suspected of receiving bribes and gratuities related to projects sourced from the APBD of the Papua Provincial Government.
The examination of Lukas was tough. He did not want to fulfill the summons of investigators both in Jayapura and Jakarta. Through his lawyer, he claimed to be sick.
The KPK finally decided to question Lukas at his residence. The examination was accompanied by KPK chairman Firli Bahuri and IDI doctors.
Some time ago, Lukas' lawyers again asked the KPK to allow their client to undergo questioning in Singapore. They claim that the action was a recommendation from a doctor abroad.
In this regard, Firli stated that Lukas must receive a recommendation from the Central Army Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto.
"And we have received data that Pak Lukas Enembe has been treated at the RSPAD, so the first alternative is for us to receive treatment at the RSPAD," said Firli in a press conference at the KPK, Thursday (8/12/2022).
Even though Lukas has not been arrested, the KPK continues its investigation. The KPK has searched a number of the Democratic Party politicians' residences in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.
In this forced effort, investigators secured a number of documents, including those related to financial transactions to gold bullion.
