Bapenda Papua urges residents to take advantage of the remaining time from the tax relaxation program

The Papua Provincial Government through the local Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) appealed to the public to take advantage of the relaxation program for exemption from fines and discounts on Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) which will end at the end of December 2022.

Head of the Papua Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bapenda) Setyo Wahyudi said in Jayapura on Monday that his party is encouraging residents to pay taxes because it is possible that the same program will be given again.

"This year, we are providing a relaxation program which can be considered quite large because now we are in the process of economic recovery, so the government wants to provide relief for the community," he said.

According to Setyo, even though the realization of PKB revenue exceeded the target, his party saw that there were still many people who had not taken advantage of tax exemptions and tax principal discounts.

"Based on our data, realized PKB revenue in Papua reached IDR 252.4 billion or 103.26 percent of the target of IDR 244.5 billion, of course there will also be contributions from the relaxation program," he said.

For this reason, with the remaining time, it is hoped that the community can take advantage of this by making PKB payments through the post office, ATM or coming directly to the nearest Samsat office.

"However, services at Samsat offices and Samsat outlets or mobile Samsat are only open on December 29 and 30 due to holidays," he said again.

He also hopes that the two Samsat offices which will be inaugurated on December 27 in Keerom and Supiori Regencies can further improve local tax services to the public.

"In the past, the two offices did not meet service standards, so we built them so that services to the community were fulfilled properly," he said again.
