The Manokwari government helps people with disabilities and neglected children



The Manokwari Regency Government in West Papua Province provides assistance to persons with disabilities and neglected children in a series of Mutual Cooperation Month activities from 8 October to 8 November 2022 to commemorate the region's birthday.

According to the Head of the Manokwari Regency Social Service, Muhammad Mansur in Manokwari, Monday, the local government provided assistive devices in the form of five three-wheeled motorcycles, 15 wheelchairs, 12 canes, and 12 hearing aids to people with disabilities.

In addition, according to him, the Manokwari Regency Government provided financial assistance of Rp. 1.5 million each to 300 people with disabilities and 300 neglected children.

"Actually, the recipients of aid are more than that, but because our budget is limited, so that the provision of assistance is adjusted to the existing budget," said Mansur.

According to the Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Manokwari Regency Social Service, Fredy M Laleno, there are at least 600 people with disabilities in nine districts in Manokwari Regency.

The Regent of Manokwari, Hermus Indou, in an apple at the Manokwari Regent's Office yard on Monday morning, said that the local government continues to strive to improve the welfare of people with disabilities.
