The Ministry of PUPR Builds 3 Flats in West Papua

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has not only built flats (Rusun) for people in densely populated areas, but has also begun to introduce vertical residential development for people in West Papua Province. In 2022, there will be at least three flats in West Papua Province that the PUPR Ministry will build for the millennial generation as well as the state civil apparatus (ASN) who work there.

"The Ministry of PUPR seeks to provide decent housing for all Indonesians, including those in West Papua. We want the millennial generation and ASN in the regions to also be able to learn to live in flats," said Director General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry, Iwan Suprijanto in Jakarta, Tuesday (2/8/2022).

According to Iwan, the construction of vertical housing is very necessary in order to anticipate the limitations of the existing land. In addition, this flat also trains millennials and ASN to get used to living in vertical housing.

"The flats built by the PUPR Ministry are now equipped with various facilities and furniture such as tables, chairs, wardrobes and beds. So the residents just enter the flat and pay the rent according to the tariff set by the manager," he said.
