Welcoming Papua New Guinea Law, Can Improve the Welfare of Indigenous Papuans

The ratification of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) Bill for Papua which consists of South Papua, Central Papua, and Papua Mountains into a law is welcomed not only by the people of Papua. Member of Commission II of the DPR RI from the PKS faction, Mardani Ali Sera, also gave a positive response.

According to Mardani, the ratification of this bill is important because it aims to bring the government closer to the community in providing public services, providing protection, and increasing the maximum welfare of Indigenous Papuans.

"FPKS emphasizes that one of the goals of the expansion of the provinces of Papua and West Papua is to improve the quality of human resources and improve the welfare of all civil society who live and live there," said Mardani to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/7). ).

The chairman of the PKS DPP hopes that the Government can prioritize improving and strengthening the quality of qualified and competitive human resources, related to the expansion of the Papua Province. So that it becomes capital in developing and advancing Papua in the future .

"And that is no less important, the division of this province must provide wider opportunities for Papuan Indigenous People," he said.

This is because the Papuan people have been left behind in various fields. Starting from access to education, bureaucratic services, to health services. The welfare of the Indigenous Papuans should be the main concern of the establishment of this new province.
