One suspected survivor of an attack by an armed criminal group (KKB) has been successfully evacuated from the location of the KKB attack in Puncak Regency, Papua. The victim was then immediately taken to the Timika Police Headquarters.
Based on detiksulsel's monitoring, Saturday (5/3/2022), the Cartenz Damai Papua team started the evacuation at around 06.00 WIT. Two teams were flown from Mozes Kilangin Airport, Timika to go to Beoga.
The two teams consisted of an evacuation team and an evacuation security team. The two teams each use 2 helicopters.
Then at around 09.00 WIT, the two teams returned and landed at the Indonesian Army Aviation Airport. One man suspected of being a survivor descended from the helicopter.
The man was seen wearing an orange jacket and black trousers. He was then immediately taken to the Timika Police Headquarters to undergo a medical examination process.
Until this news was revealed, the relevant police had not provided further confirmation regarding today's evacuation operation. Officials also have not confirmed the fate of the bodies of the dead. Officers promised to release further cases.
Previously reported, 8 employees of PT Palapa Ring Timur Telematika (PTT) were killed in the KKB attack in Puncak Regency, Papua on Wednesday (2/3). While one other person is reported to be safe.
The TNI and police have been trying to evacuate since Thursday (3/3) but were unsuccessful due to bad weather. Evacuation also tried to continue on Friday (4/3) but was again hampered because the location of the attack could not be accessed by land transportation.
