PLN has deployed as many as 225 officers to normalize electricity supply to customers after the extreme weather that occurred Thursday (6/1) to Friday (7/1) morning in Jayapura and its surroundings.
General Manager of PLN Main Unit for Papua and West Papua Region Abdul Farid in Jayapura, Friday, said that as of 12.00 WIT, as many as 107 substations out of a total of 220 affected substations had been successfully restored.
"We are trying our best to restore the electricity system in Jayapura and its surroundings," he said.
According to Farid, now the repair progress has reached 48 percent, although as many as 113 substations collapsed and were submerged, PLN officers in the field are still recovering.
"We apologize for this inconvenience, for the time being the electricity in some locations still cannot be turned on, we are trying to restore electricity supply for customers," he said.
For now, he added that the power supply from the generator is in a safe condition. "Thanks for the generator in good condition," he said again.
He also asked for prayers from the public so that PLN officers could complete network repairs quickly and electricity could return to normal.
The affected locations that are currently still being normalized by PLN officers are Jayapura Regency (BTN Gajah Mada Sentani, Kertosari, Depapre, to the end of Amai Beach).
In addition, the Abepura District (Organda Complex, Autonomous Office, BTN Skyland, Yotefa Market, BTN Tanah Hitam under the Acai River, Youth Center and Expo Waena).
Next, the South and North Jayapura Districts (White Elephant, Kalam Kudus, Ampera Market, Paldam, Ajendam, Marthen Indey Hospital, Old Military Command, New Military Command, behind Entrop Terminal, APO Kali, RSUD Dok II, Bhayangkara, Yapis, Dok V Atas, Leopard and the State House.
