TNI personnel from the Indonesian Pamtas Task Force-PNG Infantry Battalion 123/RW held a Christmas service with the Kanum Tribe community at the Syaloom Yakyu Kesatria Jaya Church in RT 3 Yakyu, Rawabiru Village, Sota District, Merauke Regency, Wednesday (29/12/2021).
During the Christmas celebration, Danpos Yakyu Pamtas Task Force RI-PNG Infantry Battalion 123/RW Letda Inf Darwin Simanullang along with other members enlivened the Christmas celebration by participating in performing arts typical of the Kanum Tribe.
"We participate in enlivening and preserving the culture of the Kanum tribe by performing arts and dances typical of the Kanum tribe," said Danpos Letda Inf Darwin Simanullang.

"In addition to celebrating Christmas together, the activities carried out by members of the Indonesian Pamtas Task Force-PNG Infantry Battalion 123/RW Pos Yakyu together with the Kanum Yakyu tribe, Rawabiru village, are to strengthen good and harmonious relations between the TNI and the people at the eastern end of Indonesia," he added.
Seeing what was done by the Indonesian Pamtas Task Force-PNG Yonif 123/RW, the community welcomed and appreciated the actions of TNI personnel from the Yakyu Pos Task Force who had taken part in enlivening the Christmas celebrations in the village.
"We, the people, are very happy with what the members of Pos Yakyu have shown in preserving the culture of the Kanum tribe," said one resident who did not want to be named.
