A member of the Commission for Government, Politics, Law and Human Rights (HAM) DPR Papua, Laurenzus Kadepa stated that the vacancy in the position of Deputy Governor of Papua must be filled immediately.
He said, since Klement Tinal died on May 21, 2021, the position of Deputy Governor of Papua has not been occupied until now.
Whereas the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, is currently recovering his health, and there are various things in Papua that currently need a regional head policy.
“For example, regarding humanitarian assistance for our displaced communities. Food and medical needs for those affected by the conflict," said Laurenzus Kadepa, Thursday (11/26/2021).
According to him, the Governor of Papua is currently concentrating on restoring his health. He also has not been able to concentrate on implementing the government.
“He has not been able to take the position he was in when he was healthy. There must be an assistant for the governor who really knows about the current condition of Papua," he said.
He said, regarding who will occupy the position of Deputy Governor of Papua, that is the domain of the political party coalition.
What needs to be remembered and prioritized is the interests of the Papuan people and the implementation of the government.
Because now the government in Papua is run by the Regional Secretary. But he could not take a policy that is political.
"We also need information from the coalition parties regarding the progress and stages that have been running, so that within this year or early 2022 the position of Deputy Governor of Papua is filled," he said.
