DEVELOPMENT IN PAPUA IS NOT GOING BECAUSE OF SEPARATIST GROUPS

"Intimidation, threats, acts of violence and killings are often carried out by separatists to get money, they are not fighters but criminal groups"
Threats, disturbances and obstacles to development continue to occur in the Papua region, especially in mountainous areas. Starting from Yahukimo, Puncak, Bintang Mountains, Nduga and Intan Jaya. This area became a bargaining ground for the Separatist group with the local government.

On the other hand, the government wants Papua to continue to advance and develop, especially in the field of construction of both roads and buildings (public facilities) with the hope that the Papuan people can enjoy better services and education and welfare.

However, we always hear and even witness in the media the actions of the Separatist groups in Papua.

This is a real disturbance that hinders the development of the Papuan people as a whole, as we know in recent days the Separatist groups are still carrying out security disturbances against civilians, the government and the security forces.

It is a habit of Papuan separatist groups that if their requests are not accommodated, security disturbances in the form of attacks against citizens and the government will soon occur.

Road works, for example, apart from the government, the separatist groups also ask for money as an unmitigated tribute to contractors or project workers, this can range from 500 million to 5 billion.

In fact, the government wants to build to provide even better welfare for the people of Papua, especially for areas that do not yet have access through inter-regencies.

It is very unfortunate that development in Papua, both education, health, road infrastructure and so on is hampered because of the actions of Papuan separatists. They are the ones who will be responsible for all of this.

The government should not lose to them, because these separatist groups are only a handful of people who claim to be Papuan fighters, even though not all Papuans support an independent Papua.
