The Provincial Government of Papua prepares 1,427 vehicles of type for cars and buses, for the needs of PON Papua which will be carried out on October 20 - November 2, 2020.

The Head of the Papua Transportation Office, Reky Ambrauw, detailed 1,414 vehicles, consisting of 800 local vehicles for guests, as well as 627 buses intended for athletes, as well as officials.

A total of 627 buses will be sent by the central government to locations held by PON Papua in Jayapura, Merauke, Timika, and Jayapura City.

"627 buses are specialized in transporting athletes and officials. This means that athletes and officials must not be moved to other transports, because it would disrupt existing rules," Reky said, recently.

While 800 types of local transportation are prepared by PB. PON Papua, varies including Toyota Camry, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Alphard and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

Various luxury cars are still collected to be a transport for guests who come to the Papuan PON event. For 627 buses, it is divided into various sizes, namely medium type with 24 seats, then micro type with a capacity of 19 seats.

While the distribution of 627 buses will be divided to 400 units of buses serving athletes and officials in Jayapura City and Regency, then 130 units of buses in Timika Regency and 60 units of buses in Merauke.

"We are still preparing alternative routes that are expected to be able to unravel congestion during the PON," he said.
