| 4 Papua PON Venue Ready to Use |
Four Papuan XX National Sports Week (PON) venues in 2020, ready to use. The four venues are the Aquatic arena and Istora Papua Bangkit in the Kampung Harapan Sports Area, East Sentani District, and the cricket arena and indoor and outdoor hockey fields in Kampung Doyo Baru, Waibu District.

The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono ensured that the completion of the construction of a sports venue was targeted in a timely manner to support the implementation of XX PON which took place from 20 October to 2 November 2020.

The acceleration of physical development is carried out with due regard to safety aspects which involve supervision from the Construction Safety Committee (Committee K2).

"The construction of sports infrastructure and facilities for PON XX must be very careful, starting from the design, construction and supervision stages," Basuki said.
.
Head of the Education, Sports and Market Infrastructure Development Center (PSPPOP) Iwan Suprijanto added, all sports and support facilities will be ready and can be used for event tests.

"The event test is to ascertain whether the venue is appropriate or not to be used," explained Iwan.
.
The venue's readiness was also ensured by the Chairman of the Indonesian MPR, Bambang Soesatyo, who also participated in the process of developing the sports arena and its supporting facilities.

"The PON venue is not only the pride of Papuans, but also the pride of all Indonesian people," Bambang said.

In addition, the presence of the sports arena is expected to encourage young people, and Papuan athletes to be more enthusiastic and excel in becoming national and international champions.

"Earlier we had seen the aquatic venue, and it was not inferior to the one at the Bung Karno (GBK) Jakarta," Bambang added.

Aquatic venue construction has reached 81.40 percent, faster than the original target of 73.70 percent and is targeted to be completed by July 2020. At present physical work is being carried out in the form of steel frames and aluminum composite panels (ACP), installation of matched pool liner, work glassfibre reinforced cement (GRC), and installation of solar panels.

The aquatic arena is built in accordance with FINA Standards at the state budget with a 2018-2020 multi-year scheme valued at Rp 401 billion. Currently being done erection beams D 14 / 26-28, impact bolt rafter, piping work, and utility building formwork work. This venue was built with funds amounting to Rp 278.57 billion by contractors PT PP (Persero) Tbk and management consultant PT Virama Karya for Rp 4.8 billion.

The work is targeted to be completed in June 2020. Work is currently underway to install metal roofing for indoor hockey, scoring board installation work, installation of outdoor hockey FOP lampposts, and ACP cricket stands.

The total cost of construction of the cricket arena and hockey field was valued at Rp 277 billion by contractors PT Nindya Karya (Persero) and management consultant PT Bina Karya (Persero) worth Rp 4.9 billion. In addition to the four venues, the Ministry of PUPR is also organizing areas such as the 32 hectare Harapan Village.

A number of PON XX supporting facilities will be built at this location including the main stadium, training or heating field, reserved for commercial areas (hotels, malls, theaters), shooting range, and car and motorcycle parking, normalized river, main gate of the stadium, and regional utilities.
