This was conveyed by the Governor of Papua in his remarks at the opening ceremony of the XX National Sports Week (PON) which took place, Saturday (2/10) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium in Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency.
"From the land of Papua, I will show all my friends throughout the archipelago, that we, the people of Papua, will always be an inseparable part of the Republic of Indonesia because Red and White will always be sewn neatly in our hearts and souls," he said. Luke Enembe.

In addition, at the opening ceremony of the PON, Lukas Enembe also welcomed all contingents and other supporting parties. "Our hands are wide open to welcome all of our friends and our hearts are also filled with love to accompany every second of all friends in Papua," said the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe.
According to Enembe, the implementation of this PON is a pride for the Papua Province, because all the children of the nation gather and unite in the implementation of the PON.
“I would like to thank the organizing committee at all levels for doing this extraordinary job. Perhaps, we cannot fully provide perfection, for that I as the General Chairperson of PB PON XX Papua apologize if there are shortcomings and inconveniences during the implementation of PON. But I can assure you that we, the entire organizing committee, will do our best to make lots of smiles and laughs rather than tears and disappointment," said the Governor of Papua.
The Governor also expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Haji Joko Widodo who missed the implementation of PON in Papua. "Without your support, PON in Papua will not be implemented," said Enembe.
In addition, Lukas Enembe also thanked the athletes who had been selected to represent their respective provinces. "You are a line of heroes for each of the areas represented," said Lukas.
In addition to thanking him, the Governor of Papua also stated that the Covid-19 pandemic is our common enemy which until now has made us all stumble, stumble, fall and even many of our brothers and sisters have had to die fighting this vicious virus. However, there are many efforts made by the central government in collaboration with local governments in Indonesia, always doing their best to anticipate, protect and treat all Indonesian people.
Enembe stated, this XX PON has gone through a lot of routine and continuous evaluation and monitoring, until finally it was decided to continue to carry out this grand celebration with various adjustment restrictions.
"I believe that this biggest sporting event is the glue that holds the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia together," said Lukas Enembe.
Governor Lukas on that occasion also invited all parties to make PON XX Papua 2021 a symbol of mutual victory.
"Once again our Victory Symbol is together," he concluded.
Present at the opening speech were the ambassadors of friendly countries, the Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, the Ministers of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet and the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces and the National Police Chief, Governors throughout Indonesia.
