Jefry Auparay, Serui Intellectual Figure in Kab. Manokwari expressed his opinion regarding the sustainability of Otsus.
Jeffry assesses the success of Otsus in Kab. Manokwari is illustrated by the increasing development in the fields of Infrastructure, Human Resources, Education and Health. With so many Young Intellectuals of Indigenous Papuans becoming scholars and doctors, to becoming TNI-Polri through the Otsus route, it is an indicator that Otsus has indeed brought about good changes in Kab. Manokwari.
"Positive changes in the implementation of Otsus have indeed become a reality that we have seen, but there are still individuals and groups who claim that Otsus has failed, they do not know that Otsus has been managed fairly, honestly and transparently," said Jefry.
“I am the Serui Intellectual Figure in Kab. Manokwari will always give advice and understanding to the indigenous Papuan people that Special Autonomy is needed by the Land of Papua to promote and free Papuans from poverty, ignorance and backwardness so that they can be equal to other regions. The precepts of social justice for all Indonesian people are truly realized in Papua," said Jefry.
Jefry, who is also the Head of Economic and Cooperation Bureau of West Papua Province, representing Serui Intellectuals in the City of Manokwari Gospel, will continue to provide positive information to the public that Otsus must continue for the good of all Papuan Indigenous People. The success of Otsus cannot be separated from the security situation and conditions that are well maintained, and the community is not easily influenced by negative things by individuals/groups who oppose Government policies.
"Papua and West Papua are an inseparable part of the Republic of Indonesia," concluded Jefry.
