Self-help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) for 50 houses in Sentani Tourism Village

A total of 50 houses in two Sentani Tourism Villages, Papua, received Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) or house renovation.

It aims to beautify the settlements of people who live in tourist villages.

The total budget is IDR 1.17 billion. This includes 30 uninhabitable housing units (RTLH) in Yoboi Tourism Village with a value of Rp. 705 million, and 20 RTLH units in Asei Tourism Village, valued at Rp. 465 million.

The Director General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry, Khalawi Abdul Hamid, said the BSPS program was implemented to make people's houses more livable.

The government admits that it always encourages the community to play an active role in assisting the field facilitators (TFL) in its implementation. This includes the role of the Regional Government in implementing it according to local wisdom.

"We want Indonesia to be free from the RTLH through this BSPS Program and the community can occupy a decent house. The community as recipients of assistance are also required to play an active role in every process of its implementation, both administrative and technical," Khalawi said as quoted from the PUPR Ministry's website, Monday. (6/9/2021).

Head of the Papua I Housing Provision Implementation Center (P2P) Directorate General of Housing Ministry of PUPR Faisal Soedarno added that the BSPS program in the two villages in the Sentani Region was an additional quota in the context of National Economic Recovery (PEN).
