Thanks to Drones, TNI-Polri Nemangkawi Officials Control the Headquarters of Armed Criminal Groups




The Nemangkawi Task Force (Satgas) claimed to have succeeded in capturing a headquarters of the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Goliat Tabuni on Monday (16/8).

The raid carried out by TNI-Polri officers was carried out at around 15.40 WIT and resulted in a KKB member being shot.

"He managed to shoot 1 KKB and ran with his colleagues into the forest," said Head of the Nemangkawi Operations Public Relations Task Force, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal to reporters, Wednesday (18/8), citing tribratanews-police.

He explained that the KKB headquarters were initially tracked by drone patrols around Welenggaru Village, North Gome District, Puncak Regency, led by a Task Force team from the TNI.

At least, it was found that there were about three people suspected of being KKB hiding in the headquarters. They called Kamal run away and get into the honai after being spotted by a drone.

“The three of them shot the Cakra team,” said Kamal.

After a shootout, members of the armed separatist group who had been labeled by the government as terrorists fled into the forest.

Kamal said that currently the TNI-Polri had conducted an investigation regarding the group based in the area.

He explained that patrols were being carried out so that community activities in the Gome District ran smoothly and smoothly.

"The unit commanders have instructed all their members to carry out Standby at their respective Posts to avoid any security disturbances in the Ilaga Complex area after a gunfight occurred," he said.

Previously, there was also a gunfight in the Gome District area on Monday (16/8). Spokesman for the West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM), Sebby Sambom, said one TNI member died and two others were injured.

According to him, the firefight was triggered by monitoring and a siege carried out by TNI-Polri troops on Sunday (15/8) at midnight.

"Monitoring of members smelled and finally gunfire was carried out from 11-12 noon," said Sebby.

However, this was denied by the Head of Pendam XVII/Cenderawasih, Lieutenant Colonel Arm Reza Nur Patria. He said one soldier was shot.

Later, the soldier had been taken to Mimika County for treatment.

"The condition of the victim is currently conscious," said Reza.
