18 people died as a result of the actions of the Papuan KKB throughout 2021




The National Police said that throughout 2021 from January to June, security disturbances carried out by Armed Criminal Group (KKB) terrorists in Papua resulted in 18 deaths and 14 injuries. Dozens of victims are members of the TNI-Polri and the community.

Most recently, the KKB shooting took place in Yahukimo Papua. Five workers on a bridge were killed.

In response to this, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Pol Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono emphasized that the joint military and police officers are currently still pursuing KKB.

"The TNI and Polri are currently pursuing them and will not remain silent about the incident. Firm-measurable action will be taken against the group," said Argo in a written statement, Friday, June 25, 2021.

The shooting action against workers occurred on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11.05 WIT, located in Bingky Village, Yahukimo Regency, Papua.

The worker who died was an employee who was building the Kali Kuk Bridge project, Samboga Village, Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency.

In addition to the five dead workers, according to eyewitnesses, there are still 4 workers who have been held hostage by KKB. Currently the police are still investigating. The witness also explained that the alleged perpetrator was the Armed Criminal Group led by Tendius Gwijangge alias Tendinus Murib.
