Victor Yeimo, the actor behind the 2019 riots, was previously on the Papua Police's wanted list (DPO).
He was arrested in early May in Tanah Hitam, Jayapura City by the Nemangkawi Task Force and the Ditreskrimum Polda Papua.
The legal process against Victor Yeimo is currently underway and has reached the stage I process.
Regarding existing law enforcement, all parties are invited to provide support to law enforcement so that they continue to carry out legal processes for anyone who is the perpetrator or actor of the riots in Papua in 2019, one of them by Victor Yeimo.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Papuan Indigenous Youth, Yan Christian Arebo to Tribun-Papua.com in Jayapura, Tuesday (29/6/2021).
Previously, Victor Yeimo had been on the People's Wanted List (DPO) issued by the Papua Police which was later arrested on May 9, 2021, in the Tanah Hitam area by the police, now the legal process is underway.
"For this reason, we support the police, in this case the Papuan Police, to carry out the legal process that has been handled against Victor Yeimo," said Yan Christian Arebo.
Yan Christian also asked that there would be no more groups that hindered the legal process that was being carried out by Victor Yeimo.
"I, Yan Christian Arebo, invite us to keep the Sitkamtibmas in Papua always safe and peaceful," he said.
Arebo appealed to all parties in the land of Papua to always maintain unity and integrity as fellow children of the nation.
Not only that, he also invites people in Papua to follow and support government programs.
Yan hopes that this problem will not be used as an issue that continues to roll and eventually disrupt the security situation in Papua.
He suggested that various existing problems should be handed over to the authorities.
Yan also invited residents in Papua, especially in Jayapura City, to support the implementation of the Papua National Sports Week (PON).
