The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Housing is ready to support the implementation of the XX National Sports Week (PON) 2021 in Papua. A total of 15 flats (rusun) were prepared to accommodate the implementation of the sporting event.
"The total budget for the construction of 15 towers to support the XX PON event in Papua is approximately Rp. 330.4 billion," said Acting Director of Flats at the Directorate General of Housing, Ministry of PUPR Maryoko Hadi in a written statement, Wednesday (2/6/2021). .
Maryoko said that the construction of vertical housing, apart from helping the process of implementing PON XX, was also very helpful for beneficiaries to get a decent place to live in Papua.
Furthermore, Maryoko explained, the construction of the flats could run well thanks to good coordination between the Ministry of PUPR and the local government, as well as PB PON Papua as the Organizing Committee for XX Papua PON 2021.
"A total of 15 flat towers in Papua are spread over three areas, namely Jayapura Regency (5 towers), Merauke Regency (5 towers), and Jayapura City (5 towers)," he explained.
"The flats will also be used for ASN, TNI/POLRI, students, female students, and church members after the implementation of PON XX Papua in 2021," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Papua Housing Provision Agency (P2P) I Faisal Soedarno revealed that his party had dispatched officers from the Papua Province Housing Provision Work Unit to support the implementation of the prestigious event held in Papua Province.
"The flats development program, he added, has been implemented since 2016 until 2021," he said.
In the implementation of PB PON XX 2021 Papua, he said the committee needed adequate accommodation facilities. So that the Ministry of PUPR provides Temporary Use Assistance for Flats that have been built.
"In addition to flats, the PUPR Ministry has also budgeted Rp 21.6 billion for Building Improvement Support and Building Quality Improvement in the form of installing air conditioning, parking areas and fences for the convenience and safety of athletes and officials so that the building is ready for use," he explained.
