Jayapura Regent asks all parties to promote culture and natural beauty

The Regent of Jayapura, Papua Province Mathius Awoitauw asked all parties in the region to promote culture and natural beauty for the advancement of tourism in the 'kambai umbai' earth.

He said Jayapura Regency in its development vision with the characteristics of preserving cultural authenticity and active participation of indigenous peoples in the development wheel has shown a positive trend of progress in the village-based tourism sector with its local wisdom.

"A number of villages with their unique appearance and natural wealth have attracted the attention of tourists who visit to witness the beauty of Jayapura Regency," he said in a press release received in Jayapura, Friday.

According to Mathius, to increase visitors to Jayapura Regency, the Papua Creative Youth community or those that have been formed always encourage young people in each traditional village to keep managing the village.

"Promote it to the outside world so that every uniqueness in Papua becomes the advantage of future tourism," he said.

He explained that the progress of tourism in the village had received appreciation from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) RI.

"This is a motivation so that in the future there will be more tourist villages on earth 'Kambai Umbai'," he said again.

He added that the potential that exists in each village must be utilized because it will have an impact on the economy of the local community.
