The roller skating venue, prepared for the XX National Sports Week (PON) in 2021, is nearing completion. Now, the venue has entered the final or finishing stage.
The venue, which is located in the Waena Camping Ground Area (Buper), Jayapura City, has achieved 94.67 percent progress realization from the 95.91 percent plan.
PT Nindya Karya's project manager, Fatah, revealed that the progress of the venue construction will be completed after painting the walls and floor of the track.
"Currently our plan is at 95.91 percent, which has already reached 94.67 percent, where this realization will be closed when the Vesmaco applicator for the route arrives. It is planned that they will arrive in Jakarta on 12 May then carry out a 5-day quarantine and on 18 May they will come to Jayapura. After that they will inspect the arena for two days on May 21 and then install the track coating paint, ”Fatah explained to reporters, Tuesday (11/5/21).
Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Indonesian Roller Skates Association (Perserosi) Papua Province Pengprov, Jefri Abel also said that the progress of the venue was nearing completion.
Jefri said, the roller skating venue will be handed over to the Papua Provincial Government in June.
"Until today, we have confirmed that the roller skating venue will be ready to be handed over to the Papua Provincial Government in the second week, in June," said Jefri.
"While still in the finishing stage, painting the walls and track. The progress is around 95 percent, because one month from now it will be submitted to the Government, "he added.
After going through the handover process, the Perserosi Papua athletes will arrive in Jayapura to try out and adapt to the culture of the venue. However, he said, his party was still considering the pandemic situation to hold an event test, which was unlikely to be carried out.
"The second week the athletes will be here and they will try the field to adapt. Live test does not exist because it is still a pandemic situation. If the condition decreases, it can, but if it's still like this, I don't think it will be held, "he said.
The General Secretary of Perserosi Papua, Piter Semuay, said he was proud of the grand roller skating venue in Papua.
As a history for the Land of Papua, Piter assessed that the existence of this venue would boost the birth of potential roller skating athletes.
“We are very proud of the existence of a venue that from the start we saw it was not what we imagined. Driven by hard work from scratch, the presence of this venue makes us proud. Maybe we should take responsibility for each other because this venue is an asset to us. Then specifically the government can also pay attention to this together, "said Piter.
