The Sea Highway is one of the breakthroughs of many programs formulated by the government to address the high prices of goods in Papua.

Precisely on January 28, 2020, the government finally inaugurated the trial of the operation of the Sea Highway at Depapre Port, Jayapura Regency, Papua.

The Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) said the existence of the Jayapura Regency Depapre Sea Toll Road was a stimulant to drive the economy of the Cenderawasih Earth community, so that all parties, especially business actors, were invited to take advantage of this opportunity.

The concept of the Sea Highway is to accelerate the distribution of logistical materials connected to several ports with the principle of loading and unloading, meaning that there are basic commodities brought from one area and other commodities are brought back, thereby reducing distribution costs or costs.

The Port of Depapre itself is a 150 meter long multipurpose pier, a 206 meter cement pier, a 124 meter liquid bulk pier and a 206 meter container wharf in a shady bay area, which is the largest port in the Asia Pacific region, and if fully developed it could later become one of the ports.
