Papua and West Papua are part of the Republic of Indonesia

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Human Rights affirmed that Papua and West Papua are legally part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and cannot be contested.

This was emphasized in response to the emergence of news stating that there were countries that supported Papua's desire for independence and held a referendum.

The ways of international law are closed. The referendum for independence is absurd, no longer relevant to conditions of international and national law.

UN Resolution Number 2504 is final, binding that West Irian, now Papua and West Papua, are legally part of the Republic of Indonesia, cannot be contested.

The UN Resolution Number 2504 in question was issued by the UN General Assembly on 19 November 1969 at the 24th UN General Assembly, as a form of acceptance of the implementation of the People's Opinion Determination (Pepera) by the Government of Indonesia, under UN supervision in 1969.

Pepera accepted by the community through this resolution. UN Resolution No. 2504 confirmed the transfer of power in the Papua region which was then called Irian Jaya from the Netherlands to Indonesia. So it is impossible to change the resolution back and forth so there is a discourse to go there (referendum).

if there is a dialogue to discuss the issues of Papua and West Papua, what will be done is a discussion on how to accelerate development in the two regions to make it more advanced and prosperous.

It turns out that there are so many customary leaders, regional leaders who understand, realize that the best option is to defend the Republic of Indonesia, including Papua and West Papua, to jointly build the Republic of Indonesia.
