The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) determines the quota of players for each football team at the XX National Sports Week (PON) in 2021 in Papua is a maximum of 20 people. the decision became the result of a virtual PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) meeting.
In addition, PSSI also allows each participating team to be strengthened by a maximum of three professional players. The three players can also be deployed at once on the field when competing. XX PON takes place on October 2-13, 2021 in Papua and competes in 37 sports including football.
Football itself consists of two numbers, namely men and women.
For the men's sector, 12 teams are confirmed to appear in the XX PON, namely Central Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, North Maluku, Aceh, North Sumatra, Bengkulu, West Java and Papua.
Meanwhile, still from the Exco PSSI meeting, PSSI decided that their annual congress would take place on 26-28 February 2021.
However, it has not been confirmed whether the congress was held face-to-face or virtual because we still saw the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.
