The birth of Lokapala seems to break the assumption that Indonesian developers are unable to compete with superpowers in games, such as China and Korea.
According to Marciano Norman, the Lokapala esport game not only presents about how to play the game, but more than that. The Lokapala esport game can also educate the players with original Indonesian characters.
"Of course, the Central KONI today came to see how the process or activities carried out by this developer. Earlier I was taken on a tour to see how good this esports game is, ”said Marciano Norman in a virtual press conference.
“I see that Lokapala's excellence has the theme of national heroes, so this is very interesting. I give a very high appreciation to the making of Lokapala games, "
"Surely this will be a very good game because our children who play this game will indirectly learn history, so they know local heroes and will be proud to be Indonesians," he explained.
Furthermore, Marciano also said that he would help introduce the Lokapala esport game by competing in the Esport championship at PON XX Papua 2021.
"I have also planned on the input of the KONI management on the coordination of several parties to try later in the 2021 PON in October in Papua we can compete in the exhibition sports. We give Lokapala the opportunity to compete, "said Marciano.
Meanwhile, Ivan Chen, CEO of Anantarupa Studio, is optimistic that the Lokapala esports game will be accepted by the Indonesian people and is ready to compete with foreign-made esports games that have already arrived in Indonesia.
"We are optimistic that the public can accept our game. For example, during the soft launching, within 4 months our game has been played by 1.5 million. It has no promotions or tournaments. That means the Indonesian people accept it, "said Ivan.
