The Deputy Governor of Papua Province, Klemen Tinal, paid a working visit to Keerom Regency in order to monitor the readiness for the 2020 Pilkada.
The arrival of the Deputy Governor at Keerom, Monday, November 23, 2020, was greeted by the Acting Regent of Keerom, Ridwa Rumasukun and the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Keerom Regency, Blasius Waluyo Sejati.
Deputy Governor of Papua, Klemen Tinal said, this is the first working visit to a district that will hold Pilkada 2020. "In Papua Province there are 11 districts that hold Pilkada, we will visit each district later," Klemen Tinal told reporters.
Deputy Governor Tinal said that he came to Keerom to provide support to the Acting Regent and his staff so that they could work together to make the Pilkada in Keerom a success while still implementing the Covid-19 health protocol.
"The government apparatus in Keerom must support what is the direction of the Acting Regent, so that the vision and mission of the district does not stop, it will continue to run well until a regent and deputy regent are elected," he explained.
The Deputy Governor also reminded all State Civil Servants (ASN) to continue to prioritize the principle of neutrality ahead of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.
"In two weeks the Pilkada will be held so that all ASNs are expected to maintain their neutrality as State Apparatus," said Tinal.
Especially now that strict sanctions against ASN that are proven to be involved in practical politics in the upcoming regional elections await, for that, the Deputy Governor wants ASN to be neutral and provide a good example in the democratic process.
"ASN must be a good example, even though it has the right to vote, if it violates the rules, of course strict sanctions await," he said.
The 2020 Keerom Pilkada was attended by 3 pairs of regional head candidates, namely the pair Yusuf, Wally - Hadi Susilo, Peiter Gusbager - Wahfir Kosasih and Muh Markum - Malensisus Musui.
