BPS Papua Request Bhabinkamtibmas Support for Population Census

The Papua Central Statistics Agency (BPS) will carry out a population census on September 1 - 30, 2020 to support the smooth running of the 2020 Pilkada.

The head of the Papua Province BPS, Adriana H. Carolina, said that the number of BPS members and partners who will be scattered for the population census is 6,500 people and ready to be deployed to the field, to carry out data collection on the community of each district by door to door.

Adriana said the population census was still carried out by implementing health protocols, wearing a face shield, mask, gloves and being equipped with a hand sanitizer.

"We ask for the support of the Papua Police Bhabinkamtibmas to support the population census, by means of socialization assistance to the villages," he said, in a joint meeting with the Papua Regional Police's Directorate of Binmas.

Deputy Head of Binmas Polda Papua, AKBP Yamin Dian Priono said the number of Bhabinkamtibmas owned by Polda Papua to the village is very minimal.

Even so, his party will try to conduct socialization by Bhabinkamtibmas so that residents can understand the importance of this population census.

"Census officers will come to residents' houses to re-register voters for the 2020 regional elections, so that the local elections are safe and peaceful," he said.
