Three Districts in Papua Start Face-to-Face Learning

Three districts in Papua have opened face-to-face learning including Supiori District, Keerom Regency and Yapen Regency.

"Keerom and Yapen have written to us to open a school," said Head of the Papua Regional Education, Library and Archives Office, Christian Sohilait, Friday, August 7, 2020 in Jayapura.

Christian said not all schools held face to face directly. School opening is carried out in stages. "The directive is to prioritize SMA / SMK level schools," he said.

He explained that schools that will hold face-to-face meetings are asked to complete 20 lists that must be prepared to implement health protocols. Among them are a place to wash hands, provide backup masks, and others.

In addition, Christian revealed that two other districts are currently discussing face-to-face learning. Namely, Merauke and Mimika.

"Merauke and Mimika have started a discussion meeting," he said.
