Push the Central Mountains Regent to Promote New Normal

The Chairperson of the Association of Central Mountains in the Province of Papua Befa Yigibalom invited a number of regents who are members of the association of regents to socialize new normal life to the people in the local area.

The new normal implementation after the outbreak of the corona virus will be done in the near future, said Befa Yigibalom while in Wamena on Monday (6/15).

"In this one week we ask the task force team and the respective local governments to inform the public that the flight door will be opened so here we have to save," he said.

The Lanny Jaya Regent ensured that the entrance to the central mountain region of Papua at Wamena Airport, Jayawijaya Regency, which was previously closed to prevent corona outbreaks through passengers, would be reopened as usual with a number of health protocol requirements.

One step to prevent corona from entering into a mutual agreement is that each district builds a task force team post in Jayawijaya to inspect residents arriving through Wamena Airport.

"When the people were picked up by the task force team at Wamena Airport, he was immediately escorted by a task force team from his home district, because the community was large so the regional government was obliged to send medical workers to help in Wamena, so take care of their respective citizens," he said.

In addition to opening passenger flights, he said, the regent's association agreed to reopen inter-district road access for vehicles, for example between Jayawijaya - Lanny Jaya -Tolikara, Central Mamberamo, Yalimo, Nduga, Puncak Jaya.

"Although we have opened the road, we have assigned each regional government to guard its border area by building a health post to conduct rapid tests to anyone who enters the area," he said.
