Head of Heram District, Bobby J.E. Awi told ANTARA on Sunday that restrictions on street vendors who were still selling at night were to anticipate the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak that began to spread in Papua.
This was done to follow up on the Jayapura Mayor's orders related to limiting the curfew for residents and also trading hours for business people and street vendors from 06.00 CET to 17.00 CEST to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.
"We have limited the hours of operation of traders from 06.00 CET until 17.00 CET thereafter there were no more trading activities. If those who are still selling at night we ordered to stop selling," he said.
Because, according to him, selling activity at night has the potential to bring residents to be able to interact in groups in a crowd.
Bobby admitted, until now there are still naughty traders, still selling at night, not complying with the instructions of the Jayapura City Government with the operating hours for traders issued ie from 06.00 CET until 17.00 CET.
"We together with RT / RW, the village head and the TNI / Polri limit them to sell at night," he said.
In addition to restricting street vendors who sell at night, he added, his party also promotes instructions from the Mayor of Jayapura and the Papua Provincial Government related to social restrictions related to the prevention of the corona virus.
