| DPR Requests More Optimization of TNI-Polri Roles |
Seeing the surge in corona virus victims in Indonesia, namely 1,285 PDP and 114 deaths are now beginning to widen to other regions. This was allegedly due to the large number of residents going home. A number of local governments finally decided to carry out regional quarantine or lockdown.
The government through the Ministry of Politics and Law is drafting government regulations to address a number of quarantine policies that have been taken by a number of regions.
"It will be regulated when an area may restrict the movement which is commonly called lockdown, what are the conditions, then what is prohibited and what are the procedures," said Mahfud MD in Jakarta on Friday, March 27, 2020.
Responding to this, Member of the House of Representatives Commission I Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi requested that any government policy in dealing with the spread of Covid 19 should be followed by optimizing the role of the TNI and POLRI.
"The increase in PDP on a daily basis proves that there are still many people who have not done" physical distancing "and there are still many who leave the house," said Bobby, Monday (3/30/2020).
Bobby hopes that the optimized role of the TNI and Polri can make the community more aware, because here there is a socialization of mobilization restrictions with the physical presence of the apparatus.
In addition, the TNI and Polri have been proven to be able to organize themselves well. This is evidenced by the absence of active TNI-Polri in the front group exposed to Covid 19.
"The presence of the TNI-Polri is a form of government assertiveness in preventing the spread of Covid 19, such as dispersing crowds in potential pandemic sources (red zones), maintaining market locations, health facilities and limiting mobilization access and enforcing 'physical distancing'," he concluded.
