| Enliven PON XX, Hundreds of Participants Follow the Fun Walk |
JAYAPURA - In the framework of enlivening the XX National Sports Week (PON) in 2020, the Papua PON Large Committee (PB) held a relaxing walk and Cleanliness of the Hamadi Beach, Friday (6/3/2020).
PB PON Papua Deputy Chief Secretary, Longginus Sangur said, a leisurely walk in the context of enlivening PON XX, was attended by hundreds of participants from school representatives, teachers, traditional leaders, community leaders and the general public in Jayapura City.
"The purpose of this relaxing walk is we want to socialize PON XX to the public, especially PON Papua carrying four successes, one of which is economic success, so we want to say that this PON has an economic impact on society," Longginus told reporters on the sidelines of a leisurely stroll and cleanliness of Hamadi beach Friday morning.
Longginus admitted, the holding of PON Papua next October will certainly bring a positive impact on the regional economy, especially in areas that are locations of PON venues.
"We expect that the implementation of the PON will bring economic impacts to the community, so we want to disseminate to the community that thousands of people will come to Papua, especially to the people selling food and beverages, local special crafts," he said
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the PB PON Papua Equipment Division, Naftali Yogi appealed to all walks of life to support PON XX in Cenderawasih.
According to him, with the existence of a positive economic impact PON, it is not only for the region where the PON is held, but outside it can also feel.
"Especially in the regencies where the PON sports branches are held, but beyond that it is also possible to distribute their handicrafts to areas that are PON venues. "All regions in Papua have the same opportunity to promote the potential of their regions through PON," he concluded.
