Young Intellectual Leader Keerom Michael Sineri said it was time for the central government to deactivate Papua governor Lukas Enembe and inaugurate an Acting Governor of Papua.
This statement is due to seeing the declining condition of public services in Bumi Cendrawasih.
Public services in Papua are hampered because of the condition of Lukas Enembe who is unable to work optimally because of his illness and being a suspect in a corruption case.
This was revealed by the Young Intellectual Leader Keerom Michael Sineri when he was met in Abepura Jayapura, Saturday, October 15, 2022.
His party advised the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately disable the governor temporarily and replace him with an official governor so that public services can continue to run well," said Michael.
"In the case of Lukas Enembe, this is a new phenomenon in Papua that has seized all public attention," said Michael.
According to him, LE as a leader should have the courage to face the legal process so that there is no need for any movement from individuals to support Lukas Enembe in guarding the governor's residence.
"There is no Papuan culture that makes only one person leading Papua. This is because in Papua there are 7 customary territories and are divided into many tribes," said the secretary of KNPI Keerom.
Regarding the issue of the inauguration of the chief of the Papuan tribes, his party did not acknowledge this because in the inauguration procession not all Papuans were represented.
According to Michael, the public should not need to be a shield to protect the case against Lukas Enembe.
"In the case of Lukas Enembe, we cannot change a normal legal case into a customary law case," said Michael.
"Meanwhile, those involved in guarding LE's residence must be able to sort out the issue that Lukas Enembe is the governor, not the chief of a large tribe," he continued.
According to him, the public must guard the Luke Enembe case so that the examination with the KPK can run smoothly.
"Lukas Enembe must comply with the law and follow the applicable legal process," Michael concluded.
