The Head of the Region of the Evangelical Church in Indonesia (Gidi) of Tolikara Regency, Rev. Marthen Jingga STh MA asked the central government not to appoint the Tolikara Regent Officer from the Lukas Enembe group.
This he conveyed in response to the widely growing issue among the people of Tolikara Regency that the Lukas Enembe people are currently trying to face President Jokowi through religious leaders to place Regent Officials in Papua Province.
“We ask the central government not to be influenced by the proposal from Lukas Enembe who wants to place his people to fill the Regent's Office in Papua. This cannot be allowed to happen because it will disrupt the investigation process of alleged corruption cases which are currently being handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission," said Marthen Jingga, Thursday (13/10/2022) in Karubaga.
When asked about the developing issue, he said that if Lukas Enembe was arrested, it would have an impact on the chaos in Tolikara Regency, according to the Head of the Tolikara Regency Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB), this issue is misleading.
"Indeed, if Lukas Enembe is arrested immediately, it will bring peace in Tolikara Regency. Regarding the support from a certain group for Lukas Enembe, it is only natural because these groups are his cronies,” he said.
Therefore, Reverend Marthen Jingga hopes that, in order to maintain the conduciveness of Tolikara Regency, President Jokowi and his staff should not be influenced by the information conveyed by Lukas Enembe's henchmen.
"To maintain a peaceful atmosphere in Tolikara Regency, we ask the Minister of Home Affairs not to appoint a Regent official from the Lukas Enembe group, as the news is widely circulating that Lukas Enembe is currently trying to encourage Marthen Kogoya as the acting Regent of Tolikara. This should not happen," he said.
