The Black Footprints of Mimika's KNPB Chair: Been Imprisoned Twice for Terror

The chairman of the West Papua National Committee for the Mimika region with the initials YA is currently in the public spotlight after being arrested for dealing with bullets for the Intan Jaya KKB.

Who would have thought this KNPB frontman had an unusual track record in the police black record. As revealed by the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Ops Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Mustofa Kamal, Saturday, September 24, 2022.

In 2016, YA was arrested but was sent home due to several problems, including the problem of the declaration or appeal of Makar in SP 13.

YA has also been involved in the issue of distributing flyers for the demonstration at the Welcome Bridge SP 2 in 2017, as well as the plan for a demonstration in Timika Indah in 2017.

Not only that, YA was also involved in several criminal acts, namely possession of sharp weapons in 2012 and was sentenced to 10 months in prison. This verdict is in accordance with the decision of the Timika City District Court number: LP/265/X/2012/Papua/Res Mimika, 19 October 2012.

5 years later, YA was again entangled in the Makar problem in 2017 and was sentenced to 10 months in prison. "This case is according to Police Report number: LP/303/V/2017/Papua/Res Mimika, May 30, 2017," said Kamal.

Ironically, YA again faced the law over the Makar issue in 2019 and was sentenced to 1 year in prison. This case itself is based on Police Report number: LP/1075/XII/2018/Papua/Res Mimika, dated December 31, 2018.

In the latest case, YA was arrested by the Ops Damai Cartenz Law Enforcement Task Force, for being involved in a bullet transaction for the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Intan Jaya.
