Ondoafi Sentani Reject PRP Action: Don't Damage Our House, Respect Our Customary Land

The rise of actions by groups calling themselves Petisi Rakyat Papua (PRP) in Jayapura City or on the Tabi Customary Land against government policies related to the expansion of new autonomous regions and Otsus in Papua received a strong response from Ondoafi in the Sentani customary area, Tuesday (12/7). /2022).

The call for the rejection of the PRP action, which is planned to be held on Wednesday (14/7/2022) tomorrow, was conveyed by the ondoafi of the Sentani customary area during a declaration activity at the Yanto Eluai Ondoafi Pendopo, Sereh Village, Sentani City District, Jayapura Regency.

Ondoafi Yakob Fiobetau said that people from outside the Tabi customary land, who came to live on the Tabi customary land, please respect the Tabi indigenous people, especially the Sentani indigenous people and should not take actions that can disrupt the security and social security situation in the Tabi customary area.

In addition, Yanto Eluai as Ondoafi Kampung Sereh, said loudly to any group that wants to carry out anarchic actions and disturb the security and social order situation, it should not be done on Tabi customary land, because we Tabi customary children want our area to develop and develop.

In addition to the strong statement prohibiting the activities of the PRP group on Tabi Land, the ondoafi also read their statement of position directly, the contents of the statement of position are as follows.

Responding to the political situation in the Land of Papua, especially in the Papua Province, after the ratification of the new autonomous region, we as Papuan youths are at the forefront to support and protect the land of Papua from untrue issues and reject actions that have the effect of disintegrating the nation.

We as Indonesian citizens who are legitimate and obedient to the 1945 Constitution, must contribute in maintaining peace and order.

Regarding the issues of determining / ratifying new autonomous regions, it is a blessing from God that we must enjoy and be grateful for together, especially the Papuan people must be able to take care of them.

Observing recent developments and dynamics in the Papua region for the ratification of the DOB and Otsus Volume II programs, the solidarity of the Papuan youth community has agreed to state the following stance.

1 That in solidarity with the Papuan people, we are grateful for the attention of the central government towards Papua, which has ratified the Special Autonomy Law No. 2 of 2021 regarding the second amendment to Law No. 21 of 2001 concerning Special Autonomy in Papua, because it will have a positive impact on accelerating development and improvement of community welfare in the Land of Papua.

2 That we are in solidarity with the Papuan people and support the establishment of new autonomous regions in the Papua region, which is a national strategic program based on the aspirations of the people. Because the expansion approach will accelerate development as well as expand the range of services and shorten the span of development control to the people in the Papua region.

3 That we, in solidarity with the Papuan people, fully support the formation of new autonomous regions in the Papua region, because it has been legally mandated in Article 76 paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Law Number 2 of 2021 concerning Special Autonomy for Papua. public services, and community welfare as well as elevating the dignity of the Papuan Indigenous People (OAP) as well as improving health, job opportunities, increasing human resource development, regional economic development, managing regional economic potential and the growth of democratic life can be realized for the sake of the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.

4 Whereas we, in solidarity with the Papuan people, threaten to take action against the Pro-Independence groups (PRP and KNPB), which always expresses the aspiration to reject the DOB and Otsus, the Papuan people must be able to see that these groups are only misleading the people themselves.

5 That we, in solidarity with the Papuan people, urge all Papuans not to be provoked by untrue issues, while maintaining the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia over the land of Papua.
